The Carvel Property will be developed as a partnership between The Durst Organization and Landmark Land Company. Their combined experience, financial strength, commitment to highly principled development, and record of long-term ownership and management of developed properties brings the resources and skills required for the implementation and success of the Carvel Property Development.

The Durst Organization is the owner, builder, and manager of 8.5 million square feet of residential and commercial properties in Manhattan, among which are buildings widely recognized for their attention to sustainable design and operations. The projects have received numerous national awards for environmental excellence including the National Resource Defense Council’s Forces of Nature Award.

Development partner Landmark Land Company has created a reputation for developing highly-regarded master planned recreation-oriented communities throughout the world which are renowned for their quality of lifestyle, exceptional golf, overall design and construction, and their sophisticated commitment to natural resource based design and ongoing resource stewardship.

Professional Consultants
Durst and Landmark Land Company have assembled a team of experts to participate in the creation, design, greening, permitting, implementation and operation of the project vision. The Development Team collaborated on a sophisticated natural resource based master plan and design, and are in the midst of the environmental impact assessment and approval process which will include extraordinary opportunities for public participation.

The consulting team’s objective is to implement a natural resource based design process that evaluates site and community resources, design issues and alternatives, project impacts and implementation strategies. This extensive effort will ensure that the Carvel Property Development will be socially responsible, rest well within the land and community, guarantee the preservation of significant open space, and be visually compatible with the surrounding environment.
